What is Temp Tamp?
Temp Tamp is a staffing agency built exclusively for coffee shops and coffee carts.
Any coffee shop, coffee cart, catering hall, or barista can register to get work or fill shifts.
A coffee shop, cart or caterer can either set up a job listing for a short term barista or they can find a barista in their area that has the availability they need and can book that barista directly.
Of course! When you sign up as a barista, you’ll be able to set your availability, make changes to it any time you need, and set what notice you need to pick up a shift! If you’re able to work within an hours notice, you’ll increase your ability to pick up shifts.
Since TempTamp is a staffing agency, all payments are made from coffee shops and caterers directly to Temp Tamp and baristas are paid every two weeks based on how many hours they worked during that payroll period.
Since TempTamp has to be a reliable agency, if a baristas fails to show up to a shift they have agreed to work, they’ll receive a 🚩on their profile indicating that they have failed to show up to a shift. If this happens a second time, they barista will automatically be ineligible to pick up any further shifts. The 🚩will stay on their profile for 6 months at which point it resets.
Absolutely, this is what we are here for. If you have an urgent need for a barista, we recommend that you simply look through our baristas and hire one on the spot since posting the job will delay how quickly you find a barista.
Are coffee shops verified before joining?
Yes. All coffee shops must complete their profile and before their shop or catering hall is posted, we will verify that their store is verified through third party verification.
Yes. A barista that signs up with TempTamp must go through a verification process including onboarding and basic service training skills before fully approved on our site. They will also be encouraged to upload examples of their skills so the coffee shops in need will have a good idea of their coffee skills before hiring them for the day.
Since we take pride in the baristas we send out on jobs, in order to guarantee that they are holding our service standards, we have a barista star system. Coffee shop managers and owners can give our baristas 1-5 stars based on their performance and service. The higher the rating, the higher quality service you can expect. If a barista’s ranking falls below 4 stars at any point, they will be temporarily suspended from accepting job offers and cannot get back on until they go through our secondary service training process. We want to ensure that our baristas feel safe and comfortable in every working environment. They will therefore be able to rate the place they worked from 1-5 stars based on their experience at the stores. Please head over to our sample ranking forms to see what the ratings are based on.
Yes. You can use a desktop or simply log in on your phone.
Temp Tamp will be paid a percentage of the baristas total fee by the coffee shop or hiring caterer. Because we are a staffing agency, baristas have full worker’s comp and disability insurance which adds a substantial level of security for the coffee shop. Simply hiring a barista through TempTamp saves coffee shops on training, onboarding, payroll expenses, just to name a few.

One of the biggest benefits to using TempTamp is that you don’t have to worry about your insurance covering our baristas. Accidents can happen and since our baristas are not your employees, your insurance won’t cover any incidents. We are fully insured and all of our baristas will have the coverage they need to work at your business.
